Lana Del Rey has announced that her highly anticipated new album will be named Black Beauty. Her junior album will be released on on July 4th, 2013 (Interscope/Polydor/Stranger) in the U.S.
Although she now lives in the UK, Del Rey has been traveling to California in order to ensure a Fourth of July release date.
Del Rey said via BBC Radio 1 that for Black Beauty she has “moved on to a more spiritual place lyrically.”
Currently, Del Rey has confirmed three tracks for the album: “Black Beauty,” “Chelsea Hotel #2,” and “Fallen Angel of the Lord.”
The release of this new album will be just after Del Rey has finished her European tour for her Paradise EP, released last November. In August, Del Rey will begin her U.S. tour that will include meet and greets in major cities.
In order to celebrate her new release, Del Rey has begun accepting submissions for her Institute of Innovative Thinkers. The Institute has donated over two hundred thousand dollars that will be rewarded to groups of ten who have “innovative ideas aimed at forwarding technology and improving sustainability.” [Twitter 1/2]
